Canaan Valley- West Virginia- May 25th- 27th 2002

We headed out to the Canaan Valley in the Applachian mountians on Saturday morning.  It took us almost 4 hours to get there, via beautiful scenic routes I-270, I-70, I-68, US 219 and finally WV Rt. 32.  As per Fredy's 'research' it was supposed to be very cold there so we took all our winter clothing with us in the trunk.  Ofcourse the weather was an awesome 80 degrees, and we had left all our shorts back home! :)

We reached on at around 4.00 pm and had a lovely late lunch, but they thought it was dinner...We then headed back north to Blackwater Falls - West Virgina - supposed to be the most photograhed location in WV.

huge huh?  :)  The Niagara is much bigger :)

Now he knows he's being photographed...and something is tucked far away and out of sight...

Heading off to Seneca Rocks the next morning...

some people still want to climb stuff like this...even after we've invented helicopters...Stupidity, a parsi with
a stomach full of steak, simply cannot fathom....

The National Radio Astronomy that we couldn't see properly cause we were on our way further south...

Cass West Virginia...an old logging town...now offering wonderful train rides ..

The oldest engine 'Number 5' - built in 1908.

Caught trying to catch some soot...

sigh...life sure was slow and peaceful back then...

Back Home?
